Flow of trucks to Jordan slated to increase to 250 a day

Israel Television Channel Two reported this evening that Minister of
Regional Cooperation Silvan Shalom met today with representatives of the
various authorities that are involved in the movement of foreign trucks
between Haifa Port and Jordan via Israel. Shalom announced plans to extend
the daily hours for the program. Channel Two reported that the goal is to
reach a flow of 250 trucks a day. The trucks, which are come to Haifa on
roll-on-roll-off vessels, cross Israel to Jordan, with many of the trucks
continuing from there to the rest of the region. Until the breakdown of
conditions in Syria, these trucks made their way into the region via Syria.
